About Global BRTData

The BRTData gathers information on Bus Rapid Transit – BRT and bus priority systems in cities around the world. The platform is source of research for academics, journalists, students and municipal technicians, as well as provides technical background for decision making regarding public transport.

The data presented contemplate full BRT systems (dedicated bus lanes, unique brand, platform-level boarding, pre-board fare collection, and real time user information) and priority bus systems: cities with dedicated bus lanes, bus without some of the elements of a BRT. The website allows the user to know the systems and corridors of each city, compare indicators and generate graphs.

The BRTData was developed by Across Latitudes and Cultures – Bus Rapid Transit (ALC-BRT), a center of excellence (CoE) in BRT, and by WRI, with collaboration of the Latin American Association of Integrated Transport Systems and BRT (SIBRT) and the International Energy Agency (IEA). The platform is monthly updated with reliable data and verified by WRI Brasil Sustainable Cities.

MODAL SPLIT - BANGKOK

The city has started the system in 2010 and now counts with 1 bus priority corridors consisting of 15 kilometers and benefiting 15,000 passengers every day. The average operational speed of the system is 26,0 km/h.
